With a new expansive global vision, thanks to its acquisition by DeNA, ngmoco is rationalising those activities it undertook in order to understand the free-to-play market.
Hence, freemium games Epic Pet Wars, Epic Chef Wars, Epic Crime Wars and Titan Wars - created by developer Miraphonic, which ngmoco bought in late 2009 - are being shut down.
Turning out the lights
No official reason has been given other than a post on ngmoco's support desk that says -
"Hello Epic players. On 1/16/11 Epic Pet Wars, Epic Chef Wars, Epic Crime Wars, and Titan Wars will shut down. These games will no longer be playable after this date. Thanks for playing with us over the past months!"
As the games haven't been updated recently, it's unlikely they had a large audience.
Their closure will streamline ngmoco's online activities, allowing it to focus on new launches and supporting popular games such as We Rule Quests, We City and We Farm.
