Just a matter of weeks after the studio passed the 41 million mark, Talking Friends developer Outfit7 has announced its collection of apps on iOS and Android have amassed more than 60 million downloads in less than six months.
The firm's roster of digital smart toys a mixture of free and paid apps that feature characters that respond to gestures and swipes by the user enjoyed a hearty yuletide, with downloads on Christmas Day alone topping 1 million.
That's a daily total which resulted in Outfit7 netting almost $200,000 in revenue, according to TechCrunch.
Talking titans"Our growth is powered by what I would call the Law of Unintended Consequences," said CEO Andrej Nabergoj, with the firm repeating its target of topping 100 million downloads by the end of Q2 2011.
"Kids are using smart phones in ways that were never anticipated. While observing kids playing with our apps, we realised we were no longer an app developer, but a mobile toy maker.
"The global toy industry, a nearly $100 billion business, is more than double the size of the game industry. Its been a long time since anyone has been able to disrupt that business."
In-app aptitude
The firm's most popular release Talking Tom Cat comes without charge, making its money from both ads and in-app purchases.
Of the latter, the studio claims current conversion rates sit at upwards of 10 percent on average, providing what it describes as a healthy revenue stream although an exact breakdown of its income naturally remains private.
Regardless, Outfit7 has a further 18 titles lined up for release in 2011.
