NGD Studios acquires Sir Lovalot studio Hungry Game

Argentine companies merge under NGD's name

NGD Studios acquires Sir Lovalot studio Hungry Game
NGD Studios has announced it has acquired fellow Argentine company Hungry Game for an undisclosed fee.

Hungry Game, which was founded two years ago by industry veterans, is best known for its casual iPhone titles Fly Kiwi, Fly!, Freaking Inkies, and Sir Lovalot.

NGD Studios, for its part, is Latin America’s leading developer of high-end 3D games, most notably the MMO Regnum Online, a regional phenomenon that incorporates NGD’s proprietary NG3D engine.

Joining forces

In terms of executive structure, Ezequiel Baum, managing director of Hungry Game, will assume the same role at NGD Studios: “This strategic decision sets the foundation of a new major creative force.

"We are happy to join forces with the great people behind Regnum Online and continue in a path of creating wonderful games, from Buenos Aires to the World.”

Johan Christenson and Andrés Chilkowski, meanwhile, will continue on NGD’s management team as executive director and studio director respectively.

“Our competence advances tremendously with the addition of Hungry Game,” said Christenson.

“We have now reached a level where we can take on bigger projects but also build high-end casual and social games. Hungry Game gives us that breadth of knowledge.”

Spark la Revolución

In a land famed for its sporting exports – Messi, Maradona, and del Potro to name but three – the video game industry is set to take off, with NGD Studios obviously hoping to be at the forefront of la Revolución.

If you’d like to speak to NGD Studios about the Hungry Game acquisition or its new IP Bunch of Heroes, catch it at GDC 2011 and Game Connection, where it will have a high level presence.
