Following on from its excellent Q1 FY12 financial figures, Capcom has released an Q&A for investors, covering its plans for mobile operations, amongst other things.
It said it has 60 developers and 40 overseas (mainly in Canada), developing for mobile, and expects to release at least 10 Capcom brands and 8 games via its new Beeline mobile division before March 2012.
It's already announced the imminent release of social games Smurfs' Grabber, Dream Park and Monster Pet Shop, plus the acquisition of the Peanuts licence.
Lump sum
In terms of platform split, it revealed feature phones accounted for around 30 percent of the business, with smartphones and Japanese social platforms such as GREE and Mobage the remaining 70 percent.
Questioned about whether the growth rate for social games was dropping, Capcom replied it didn't believe this was case.
However, it did say the difference between FY12 Q1 net sales - $15.4 million - and FY11 Q4 net sales - $21 million - was mainly due to the receipt of a one-time royalty payment, rather than a slowing of organic growth.
