Facebook's Gareth Morris to deliver GameHack's opening keynote
UK trade association TIGA has announced that Facebook engineer Gareth Morris will deliver the opening keynote for its 24-hour GameHack event.

The sold out event, held in partnership with Telefonica-owned app revenue driver BlueVia, will see participants work to develop an original game under the pressure of a 24-hour deadline.

It takes place between 28 April and 29 April at Pinewood Studios in the UK.

"I am delighted that Gareth Morris from Facebook will be delivering the keynote speech at the TIGA - BlueVia GameHack," said TIGA CEO Richard Wilson.

"Facebook joins 15 other excellent industry partners for what promises to be an exciting weekend in games development. Facebook's support is a further boost for our innovative and popular GameHack."

Take a hack at it

Developers will compete in a variety of categories, many within the smartphone market, including best use of mobile, best mobile social gamer hack, and best Flash game for iOS.

A prize pool worth £15,000 is up for grabs for the weekend's best offerings including cash prizes as well as a PS Vita development kit, sound mix days at Pinewood Studios, a Made with Marmalade licence, and more.
