After picking up $35 million worth of funding back in March, mobile payment specialist Boku has unveiled a new direct carrier agreement with US operator Spring.
Boku, who already has direct billing partnerships with some of the biggest carriers in the region including AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, will now allow purchases to be made on phones or tablets running on Sprint's network.
The firm's billing model allows users to pay for mobile purchases with through phone bill at just a touch.
At a sprint
Sprint customers will also have access to Boku's merchant network of web-based gaming companies, social networks, and service providers, boasting merchant partners such as EA, Riot Games, Jagex, Kingisle, and Gaia Online.
"This agreement is a welcome expansion of Boku's direct carrier relationships here in the US," said Boku's President Ron Hirson.
"Most importantly, Sprint is focused on the future and strongly believes in empowering developers to drive innovation in the market. They focus on providing developers with the best tools and an industry-leading network.
Were proud that they chose Boku as a mobile payments platform to serve both their developers and their customers."
Boku currently processes "hundreds of millions of dollars in mobile payments," in 66 countries and with 40 currencies, and has deals with over 250 carriers which account for 3.2 billion consumers.
