More than 100,000 apps have been published on Windows Phone Marketplace in its first 20 months, with a quarter released during the last three months alone.
All About Windows Phone reports Microsoft's mobile store is currently outpacing Google Play previously dubbed Android Market which took 20 months to pass the same milestone.
The numbers game
Naturally, such a total still puts Windows Phone Marketplace behind the App Store, which hit 100,000 apps in its first 16 months.
Of those published on Windows Phone Marketplace, 10,357 are no longer available, while 1,492 are awaiting updates, in beta, or not currently live for some other reason.
That leaves 88,371 live apps on the store as of 3 June 2012, with an average of 313 apps being published each day.
All About Windows Phone reports games are the fourth most popular category on offer, with 12,212 titles published to date.
