When it comes to mobile games, there are problems and bottlenecks everywhere.
One way of overcoming these is to throw money and manpower at them; something small developers can't do.
However, help is on the way - at least that's the thinking behind Gamebrain.
A start-up subsidiary out of UK publisher Connect2Media, it's setting out its stall to level the playing field offering an end-to-end solution for development, publishing and distribution.
All in
In terms of getting mobile games made, Gamebrain offers what it calls its development workflow.
This guides developers through the development process with a collaborative system that enables individuals and groups to work together while using some or none of the provided (and to-be-announced) best-of-breed third-party tools.
Once a game is technically completed, Gamebrain will offer distribution options in terms of various app stores, as well as active publishing deals. Again, it says developers aren't under any obligation to sign up and can self-publish if they want to.
What Gamebrain will provide is its own lightweight social network, as well as an asset store for art and audio resources, and services such as QA and on-device testing.
In return, developers will have to pay a subscription; details are yet to be revealed.

The service is currently working with early partners and will start a closed beta in Q4 2013, with developers accepted in the scheme gaining 50 GB of free cloud storage.
