What you won't want to miss at Game Connection America 2014

There are just days before the games industry decamps to San Francisco for a week of business, awards and networking.

The folks at Game Connection America 2014 are putting the finishing touches to their event, which runs 17th-19th May at the Sir Francis Drake hotel, off Union Square.

More than 550 companies have already joined the ranks, including 235 exhibitors and 163 buyers. 44 different countries are represented.

Among the largest delegations, you'll see developers and service providers coming from Brazil, Hungary, the UK, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, France, Canada, Quebec and, of course, the Nordics.

You can check out the latest attendee list here, and Pocket Gamer will have its own presence on the show floor - Meeting Room #428

Highlighted events

If you want to be part of the dream, you're still in time to register and make the most of Game Connection, thanks to its unique online matchmaking tool that allows all attendees to schedule their business meetings before the event starts.

In addition to the networking activity, Game Connection America - together with the support of Namco Bandai Games and Microsoft Studios - will showcase the talent of 15 independent developers during the Selected Projects conference on 17th March from 9.30-11.30 am.

On the same day, the Marketing Awards Ceremony will highlight the best promotional campaigns of the year from 4-6pm..

Let's get together

Another highlighted event is the Game Industry Support roundtable, from 2-4pm on 18th May.

Moderated by Per Strömbäck from the Association of Swedish Game Developers, with other speakers including Execution Labs' Jason Della Rocca and Kate Edwards from IGDA, it's an opportunity for trade organisations and associations to better articulate, discuss and confront issues inside the interactive entertainment community.

Monday and Tuesday evenings at Game Connection America 2014 will also provide the opportunity for further networking with cocktail parties from 6pm at the Golden Gate Tap Room, right in front of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel.

Team Speak will sponsor the drinks on 17th May, while the Brazilian Game Developers will be on-stage at the same venue on 18th May.
