Medialets releases iPhone App Store metrics
If you've ever pored over charts of Facebook applications provided by the likes of Adonomics, you'll be pleased to know somebody's doing a similar job for the iPhone App Store.

That company is Medialets, which is using its App Store Metrics chart to promote its own technology that embeds ads inside iPhone apps.

Its chart tracks the top paid and free apps, and the ratings given to them by users, allowing you to view the data from the last six or twelve hours, or the last one or two days.

For example, it shows that top-ranked app Super Monkey Ball currently has an average rating of 3.45 from 1,011 ratings, while second and third-placed Texas Hold'em and Enigmo both average 4.6, from 236 and 209 ratings respectively.

It's well worth burrowing down into. The company also has a blog where it's releasing other stats, such as crunching the figures to get a ballpark idea of how much revenue games may have generated, or tracking the average price of apps.
