Greystripe targeting ad-funded iPhone games
Ad-funded mobile gaming firm Greystripe is setting its sights on the iPhone, and specifically in embedding ads inside iPhone games.

The company has already announced that several of its publisher partners will be incorporating ads into their iPhone games, including Amplified Games, Xgen media, DS Effects, United Fun Traders, Relaxas and Norbsoft.

Indeed, Amplified Games is going live with a game called Cookie Bonus Solitaire that includes Greystripe's ad network.

"By making it free, ad-supported, and included in Greystripe's massive distribution network, we now have the best chance to go viral and make significant revenue as an independent game publisher," says CEO Tom Hubina.

However, in the UK App Store at least, the game costs £3.49, so it's unclear whether the ad-funded version is US-only, or will follow at a later date.

Greystripe is supporting full-screen adverts on the iPhone, with publishers and developers able to sign up for its iPhone APIs here.

In separate news, Greystripe has announced a partnership with idle-screen mobile advertising firm Celltick to distribute its ad-funded games catalogue through the latter's LiveScreen Media platform.
