File under Tales of the Unexpected, despite the release of fairly positive financial numbers earlier this week, we're hearing rumours there's been a cull of top and mid management staff centred on Glu Mobile's San Francisco office.
Marketing, developer relations and development roles, including chief creative officer Giancarlo Mori and vice president of marketing Michael Breslin, are known to have been axed.
The restructuring follows on from the announcement that Glu has doubled its headcount, acquiring start up Blammo Games and established studio Griptonite Games.
//Additional
It's now been confirmed that Sarah Thomson, who only joined Glu from developer IUGO in July to run its gPartners scheme has also been laid off.
It's not clear if this means Glu has downgraded the gPartners scheme now it has more internal development talent.
As for official comment, we've had this prosaic statement from Glu.
""We do not comment directly on personnel matters. Our focus is on the future of Social Mobile gaming and we are poised to continue delivering high-quality and innovative games.
"This focus combined with recent acquisitions and strong development partnerships will drive continued growth."
