EA (NASDAQ: ERTS) has announced its full year FY10 financials, with the publisher revealing EA Mobile sales were $212 million, up 12 percent year on year.
Q4 sales were also up 12 percent to $55 million in the quarter ending March 31.
Over the entire 12 months, mobile sales accounted for 6 percent of EA's total, with the company claiming it's the world leading games publisher on wireless devices.
Nearest rival Gameloft's mobile game sales over the same calendar quarters (its financial year is different to EA's) were around $140 million.
All aboard iPad
"We continue to lead on mobile, iPhone and now, iPad," EA CEO John Riccitello said in a conference call in reference to the financials.
"In a tough market, our advertising sales were up and the acquisition of Playfish makes us a strong leader in social network gaming."
CFO Eric Brown added, "Mobile sales continue to grow year-over-year, and we had a strong launch of games from the iPad in April."
Portable put-off
EA's portable net revenues continue to fall in Q4 as the platforms soften however, with DS down year on year by 42 percent to $22 million, and PSP falling by 16 percent to $37 million.
Combined with mobile, net wireless revenue for the quarter was down by 13 percent year-on-year to $114 million.
Overall, GAAP net revenue for the company as a whole across the three month period Q4 was $979 million up from $860 million in the same quarter the previous year.
Revenue for fiscal 2010 fell, however, from $4.2 billion last year to $3.7 billion.
Operating income for the fourth quarter hit $83 million, though EA made a loss of $686 million for the year as a whole.
