A few Pocket Gamer favourites to give speeches

First iPhone games summit scheduled for March
It’s true that this year’s MacWorld Expo was rather devoid of games talk, despite the App Store top lists being thoroughly dominated by playable favourites. So news of the first iPhone games summit - the esoterically titled iGames Summit - is quite an important announcement for the developer community.

The half-day event is scheduled for March 19th in San Francisco, with industry speakers such as Shervin Pishevar (SGN), Andrew Lacy (Tapulous) and Andrew Trader (Zynga) already confirmed.

"The market for iPhone games is exploding, and we're organizing our first event focused on this vibrant market," says organiser Charles Hudson.

"Our half-day event will bring together leading iPhone game developers, investors, and industry executives to share their collective wisdom on what's working today and where this exciting industry is heading."

The event is being hosted by 3rd Power, the company behind the Virtual Goods Summit and Social Gaming Summit, so despite it not actually being affiliated with Apple it appears the iGames Summit is in pretty good hands.

Speaker proposals are being accepted from developers and publishers until January 30th, so if you’re interested in taking part head on over to the official iGames Summit page and sign up.

Yes. Spanner's his real name. And, yes, he's heard that joke before.
