Speaking at the launch of the new iPad tablet device today, a typically low key Steve Jobs declared Apple to be the biggest mobile devices company in the world.
After detailing sales of $15.6 Billion for the last quarter and citing sales of key technology including laptops, iPods and iPhones, Jobs stressed not only that Apple "were a mobile devices company" but that they were bigger in this field than Sony, Nokia and Samsung.
Clearly some number crunching to be done to back up the specifics of this claim, but it's equally evident that with the iPad Apple are gunning to increase this lead yet further.
