Keeping a track on the performance of their apps is clearly a fundamental part of a developer's day to day business.
Given the market they operate in, it's perhaps surprising it's only now that Apple appears keen on studios being able to access such info, even when they're away from their PCs or Macs.
As such, the launch of Apple's iTunes Connect Mobile app offers up the kind of service it's arguable the giant should have been offering from day one key sales data, delivered to any iPhone or iPod touch handset.
Staying on track
"The iTunes Connect Mobile application allows developers to access their sales and trend data from iTunes Connect," Apple says of the app.
"You can now view your daily and weekly sales data related to updates, paid and free apps as well as in-app purchases."
Indeed, the app delivers a break-out of daily sales, as well as spanning them across the course of a week, month, or even six month period.
It's being pitched as an example of Apple listening to developers and serving up the kind of service they need, although some believe it's possible that the company is looking to appease developers in light of the controversial revision of the iPhone developer agreement.
