Nokia isn't hedging its bets with the Windows Phone-powered Lumia series of smartphone devices.
One of its senior executives claims that should the firm's push into the US fail, it will be unable to compete on the world stage.
Not only that, but Victor Saeijs, SVP of Nokia Europe, stated that there was no plan B, with the future of its business resting squarely upon the shoulders of its new handsets.
Steadying the ship
"Plan B is that Plan A must succeed," said Saeijs, speaking with Swedish paper Dagens Industri, before adding, "We must succeed in the US if we are to succeed in the world."
A glance at the news in recent weeks should have a few people at Nokia looking nervous, with 4,000 jobs being cut at factories in Europe and Mexico, as the firm looks to cut costs and reach market quickly by being nearer to its suppliers.
Disappointing figures from the most recent Q4 2011 financial report also suggest that the Finnish firm is struggling, though it's early days for the Lumia franchise and since release they have begun to show signs of a promising future.
