Facebook has moved to eliminate rogue game ratings on its new App Center, restricting the ability of users to rate apps whenever they please.
Instead, Facebook's App Center is to poll random players for ratings, with the social network looking to ensure its rating system cannot be manipulated by companies looking to inflate their game's score.
Window display
Facebook has promised to prominently display those apps which most engage players and receive the best user ratings.
As such, there's additional incentive for developers to try to manipulate these rankings.
But Facebook's engineers are understandably keen to maintain the integrity of their platform's rankings systems, thereby ensuring that only the App Center's best apps are displayed front and centre.
What's more, Facebook is providing developers with tools to monitor user feedback and engagement, so that content creators can more easily measure the impact of changes and analyse the reaction to their games by market segment.
