Swedish developer VisualDreams is bringing a new level of transparency to sales of its new iOS game Linkies.
On the game website, there's a real-time counter listing the total number of sales and gross revenue, and position in the US paid chart.
And from our experiment - i.e. a game purchase - it appears to works.
"Developers are usually very secretive about sales figures. However, we strongly believe in transparency and the importance of knowledge sharing, and we think that making these statistics public might help our fellow indie developers in the future," commented CEO Kristofer Boman.
"Moreover, we want to share with our fans one of the most exciting days in a developer's life: the launch day."
