UK trade association TIGA has unveiled the finalists for its inaugural celebration of the British games industry the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2012.
The shortlist of nominees was decided by a community vote last week, and includes mobile studios such as NaturalMotion, Denki, Supermono Studios and Neon Play.
Judge's decision is final
As expected, portable and mobile studios have been granted a strong showing in the Best Casual and Best Social Game categories, but the industry is actually very well represented throughout all categories, including Originality, Game Design, Visual Design and Tools & Technology.
The ultimate winners will be decided by TIGA's panel of judges, and revealed at a gala event in Bath's historic Assembly Rooms.
"We introduced the TIGA Awards to celebrate creative and technical excellence and to highlight business professionalism in the games industry," explained TIGA CEO Dr Richard Wilson.
"I'd like to thank all of the games businesses for entering the Awards, the community for participating in the vote and for the judges who have freely given of their time to help determine the winners of the TIGA Awards."
The Awards will take place on 1 November, as part of the wider ExPlay Festival that will set up shop in Bath from 1-2 November.
To view the full list of finalists in all categories, visit the TIGA Awards 2012 website, where tickets for the event can also be purchased at a cost of £70 per person.
