Side-Kick Games new Windows 8 game Top Smash Tennis will change the way mobile gamers play.
That's the claim being made by the developer, with the title shunning touchscreens, controllers or motion control inputs to instead rely on a standard 2D camera to register a player's body motion - similar to how Microsoft's Kinect works.
In order to play, a user must prop up their Windows 8 PC or tablet up at an angle where its camera can register their motion.
Following a quick calibration, Top Smash Tennis will render players into the game as a 3D character and track their motions through the camera.

The games uses the Extreme Motion SDK from Israel outfit Extreme Reality.
Its CEO Sarit Firon commented, "Until now, motion-controlled games have been tied to console platforms.
"Now, just as users are migrating from console-based to mobile-based games, Extreme Reality has the critical software ingredient that allows any developer to create a full-body motion game that requires no additional hardware than the smartphone, tablet or PC people already own.
"This gives tremendous new freedom to the developer and the gamer."
Top Smash Tennis will be available on the Windows Store soon.
