Scoreloop is currently the only social gaming network to support Android alongside iPhone and iPad, and it's a strategy that appears to be paying off.
The company has announced that with just two Scoreloop-enabled games live, it's adding 300,000 new Android users per week.
And as CEO Marc Gumpinger points out, that more than much feted apps such as Foursquare and MyTown are doing.
Of course, those two games Jewels (MHGames) and Toss It (Boolba Labs) are free, but even this is an opportunity for Scoreloop as its Coins in-game currency acts as an in-app purchase mechanism.
It's particularly useful considering that Android Market is a much less developed commercial ecosystem compared to Apple's App Store.
Purple explosion
"We're seeing exponential growth on all platforms right now," said Marc Gumpinger, Scoreloop's CEO.
"Our cross-platform approach and bet on the Android market has catapulted us to the leadership position. The numbers coming in from newly released integrations are impressive in terms of both users and engagement, as well as additional revenues we've enabled."
Alongside this news, Scoreloop has also announced the public release of its Core Social SDK for Android and a new version for the iPhone.
This is supported by an updated developer area, making it easier to configure game settings such as leaderboards and achievement across platforms, as well as a new support forum and FAQ to assist with implementation.
