Quality Index: The week's best iPhone games - Tiny Wings and Puckerz!
Welcome to the weekly iPhone Quality Index (Qi) games round-up, giving you the LOWdown on the HIGH scorers every Friday on these hallowed pages.

As you may already know, Qi trawls the web for iPhone game reviews from the world’s most respected online and print sources.

Qi then applies its own magic formula to each site (such as 148Apps, Macworld, and AppVee) to establish a single definitive Qi score for each iPhone app and game.

Wind beneath my Wings

Flapping furiously onto Qi’s chart this week in silver medal position comes Andreas Illiger’s overnight sensation Tiny Wings, whose aerodynamically challenged hero has two ambitions in life: to fly, and to supplant Dead Space on our leaderboard.

Your feathered friend Tiny may be short on wingspan, but he’s long on bouncebackability and positive critiques, grabbing no fewer than six dreamy reviews from across the iPhone universe for a soaring 8.8 Qi rating.

All of which is testament to Tiny’s heart, determination, and vigour, as the near-flightless avian gathers speed (and a few bruises) over the sloping hills in his endless quest for aeronautical travel.

As Pocket Gamer explains, Tiny isn’t entirely without aid in his desperate battle with gravity: “Helping you along the way are blue speed-ups, which are generally found at the bottom of valleys, while level progress occurs as you travel through different islands.”

Pucking ace

Continuing in the same fast-paced, just-one-more-go-please-Daddy vein as Tiny Wings, Groundbreaking Games invites you to a brick-breaking/orb-collecting party DJed by a pop techno enthusiast.

Launch your puck around a hazardous board brimming with bumpers, mines, cannons, and pits, collecting as many points as possible in a limited time and wreaking undeniably satisfying havoc as you do so.

A quintet of awesome appraisals for the smashing challenge that is Puckerz! equates to an eye-catching 8.3 Qi score, the game’s 30 handcrafted levels testing your appreciation of angles to the absolute limit.
Gamezebo, for its part, appreciated the aesthetic appeal, remarking that, “visually, Puckerz! is great. The graphics are a simple, two-dimensional affair shown from a top-down perspective. Yet they're sharp and brightly-coloured, and contain a playful feel that permeates just about every aspect of the game.”

You can get the up-to-date information about which games are reviewing best over at the Quality Index.
