US developer Tapulous is on the verge of releasing a Coldplay-themed version of its Tap Tap Revenge iPhone music game, claims TechCrunch.
It wouldn't be the first artist-focused edition of the game Tapulous has already made versions for Nine Inch Nails and Weezer.
However, Coldplay would be by far the biggest. The report says the game could be on sale as soon as tonight or tomorrow, probably for around the $5 mark.
The game would continue Tapulous' fruitful relationship with major record label EMI, which besides being Weezer's label, has also supplied tracks from artists like Katy Perry and the Kaiser Chiefs to Tap Tap Revenge.
The music industry is mustard-keen to find new revenue streams to counteract the steep decline in CD sales (which digital sales on stores like iTunes aren't making up for).
Tapulous has done a good job so far of showing that iPhone games may be a valuable new area for bands and labels.
