Capcom and Hands-On Mobile to deliver Discovery games

Discovery Channel licenses TV shows to mobile developers
The Discovery Channel's parent company, Discovery Communications, is branching out with its licenses to bring two TV shows to the handheld gaming market.

Capcom has been drafted in to create both mobile and iPhone versions of the channel's quiz show Cash Cab, in which unsuspecting travellers are asked general knowledge questions during a taxi ride.

The mobile version is expected to launch in June, followed the iPhone adaptation in August.

In a considerably different area, the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch will be converted to the mobile by Hands-On Mobile, in a game that follows a crew of fishermen as they brave freezing temperatures, gale-force winds and towering waves.

No release date has been announced for the Deadliest Catch as yet.

Yes. Spanner's his real name. And, yes, he's heard that joke before.
