Three key creatives behind Sony Online Entertainment's espionage shooter MMOG The Agency have left to set up Detonator Games which is focused on games for mobile and social networks.
Matt Wilson (creative director), John Smith (technical director), and Corey Dangel (art director), each have over 15 years experience of making games, with stints at companies such as Microsoft and CaveDog.
Prior to SOE, they formed FireAntGames, which was acquired by SOE to create the Seattle studio which is still developing The Agency. It's due for release in 2010.
No details have yet been provided about Detonator Games' approach to the burgeoning market it's choose to enter. But we can say the braindrain from console and PC gaming to iPhone and Facebook gaming continues apace.
