In an interview with Mobile-Ent.biz, senior vice president of global publishing at mobile veteran Glu, Jill Braff, has revealed the company has lost its European managing director Frank Keeling.
Keeling joined Glu after holding executive positions at both Vodafone and RealNetworks in late 2007, with his duties now being divided between European marketing director James Scalpello and sales director Olivier Bernard.
According to Braff, the changes come as the company shifts its focus toward global platforms such as the iPhone and Facebook, making specific European objectives contrary to that focus.
"Now what were seeing is that iPhone particularly is a global platform," Braff explains. "So theres things that James and his team will do in Europe with the carrier business, but increasingly were seeing the similarities and pulling close as a global team."
As part of this new approach, Glu has been hiring in the US to gather a team focused on social games through the Facebook network, while Braff intimated that the company could be looking toward other platforms - such as the PSP and DS - as they increasingly lean toward digital distribution.
