Accumulate has announced a global licensing deal with Sony Ericsson for its Flexion technology.
This enables you to provide a range of different options for the purchase, discovery and delivery of mobile content, including games.
Sony Ericsson will be the first handset manufacturer to preload Flexion-enabled mobile games on its handsets.
The Flexion wrapping engine automatically prepares any Java application or game, and provides a pricing and licensing platform which can be managed by the retailer.
Examples include 'try-before-you-buy', 'rent for the day' or 'have-a-go for 25p'. Games can also be used to promote a publisher's other content.
Accumulate's MD Jens Lauritzson says, "We are delighted Sony Ericsson has taken this step together with us. We have been preloading Flexion enabled games with operators such as Hutchison 3G UK for a while now with very good results. With the help of Sony Ericsson we will extend our reach significantly."
The first Sony Ericsson device to ship with Flexion technology will be the Yari phone expected later this year.
