GetJar is the second largest mobile application store in the world next to Apple (and bigger than Nokia, as the company previously pointed out), and is leveraging its online shop front system as a white label app store for network operators, aggregators and partners.
The new system is called the App Catalogue Express (ACE), and has already been put to use in creating a new customer portal for The Carphone Warehouse, providing a mobile app store for Europe's largest independent phone retailer.
"The demand for apps has soared over the past year. Many operators and other third parties are keen to introduce an app store, without needing to manage the back office infrastructure," says GetJar founder and CEO Ilja Laurs.
"ACE is designed to make it quick and easy for carriers, aggregators and partners to launch a pre-populated app store for all major platforms and devices, using GetJars large catalogue of existing apps."
White label app store systems have grown in a directly proportional popularity to on-device purchasing and digital distribution, and with over two dozen partners, GetJar's is likely to be a leading contender.
