It's fair to say the FreeAppADay website seems to have been a massive success since it launched in January.
It's been boosting games and apps into the free chart, enabling developers to cross-promote, build communities, use ad-funded models, as well as hooking into other options such OpenFeint's Free Game of the Day and their own promotions.
Notable recent successes include Appy's FaceFighter, which did almost 1 million downloads in a week, Tiki Totems, and Astraware Casino.
And now FreeAppADay is making sure the games it promotes - it's a paid for service after all - get the full benefit of its process by launching the monthly FAAD Awards.
Platinum will be awarded to the top downloaded app of the month, with gold, silver and bronze awards voted for by the FAAD community via the FAAD of Fame.
This will see the games gaining more exposure on the FAAD website, enabling developers to further promote their wares.
