THQ (NASDAQ: THQI) has revealed its THQ Wireless division generated $1.6 million of revenues during its first quarter, for the three months ending June 30, 2010.
This is down 63 percent from the $4.2 million of revenue it booked a year ago, and accounts for 1.1 percent of the company's overall revenue.
THQ has restructured its operations over the past couple of years, with its mobile division being heavily cut back. Its highly regarded internal development studio Universomo was shut down in March 2010.
Most recently THQ Wireless has focused on its Star Wars iPhone games such as Battle for Hoth. It says it has 15 titles planned for release over the next 12 months, including for Android.
Slipping down
Overall, THQ reported net sales of $149 million, down 39 percent year-on-year. It made a loss of $30.1 million compared to a profit of $6.4 million 12 months ago.
As well as falling mobile sales, revenue from DS and PSP was also down. DS sales were $20 million, down 1.7 percent, while PSP sales were $4.3 million, down 14 percent.
Overall, THQ's Handheld category accounted for 17 percent of total sales; $25.6 million, down 12 percent year-on-year.
