Coming on the back of two successful Backbreaker releases and the firm's Jenga tie-in, NaturalMotion Games has revealed it is to launch a new London studio specifically designed to expand its smartphone presence.
The new outpost is in addition to the firm's existing studio in Oxford and will be tasked with accelerating its development on iOS and Android.
As such, NaturalMotion is already engaging in a talent hunt to populate its new office.
London calling
"Our talented team in Oxford has already had great success with Backbreaker and Jenga but with the studio now working on more projects at full capacity, this is an ideal opportunity to tap into the pool of creative development talent available in London," said CEO Torsten Reil.
"We've been thrilled with the quality of our initial key hires, and are looking to recruit for multiple additional roles, including development, art and design."
NaturalMotion, which was recently nominated for two awards at the IMGAs, claims the latest game in its Backbreaker series Backbreaker 2: Vengeance saw first week revenues come in a seven times the rate of its predecessor.
The original game hit 3.2 million downloads in December.
British base
"Our new approach to development and publishing is already producing great results, but we are only beginning to exploit the potential of this rapidly expanding market," added head of games Todd Gibbs.
"We're delighted to be able to expand our UK base and look forward to revealing what we have planned for 2011.2
