Takes top job with immediate effect

Bravo Game Studios appoints former Glu man Scalpello as CEO
Little over a year since the company first took shape, Spanish developer Bravo Game Studios has appointed Glu's former EMEA marketing director James Scalpello as its new CEO.

Scalpello, who also previously headed up marketing at THQ, has been charged with driving the studio's business forward as the firm looks to cement its position in the market.

Bravos all round

"Our goal over the next 18 months is to grow the business and consolidate our current standing within the mobile entertainment industry," said president Jose Miguel Lopez of Scalpello's appointment.

"To do this we need someone who is a visionary, and has the relevant level of expertise and corporate leadership background to lead us into that future. To that end, James is undoubtedly the best person for the job and I’m excited that he'll be with Bravo as we head into the next important part of our journey."

Scalpello himself said he was unable to turn the position down once offered, having watched Bravo since it arrived on the scene.

"When the opportunity arose to take up a position within the company I was delighted to accept the role," he said.

"Bravo Game Studios has already proved itself, with top tier IP, strong brand partnerships and technological know-how, and my job now is to help the company retain the momentum that it’s currently experiencing and help drive the business forward to the next level."
