Best known recently for its Mama range on DS, as well as its Wii/Kinect party fitness title Zumba, Majesco Entertainment will soon be going head-to-head with Angry Birds on Facebook with the launch of Parking Wars 2.
Founded in 1986, Majesco gained a foothold in the videogame publishing market by reissuing old abandoned titles, and has enjoyed great success in recent months by recycling its own Cooking Mama game on Facebook.
The cookery based mini-game compilation serves up more than 1 million monthly active users on the social network for the New Jersey company, with many of the lessons learned from its success being applied to the Parking Wars 2 launch.
Brand awareness
"As Facebook becomes more mature, we are making it part of our strategy," says Jesse Sutton, Majesco's CEO.
"Our focus will be on ''brands, brands, brands' for casual audiences such as boys, girls, families and adult women."
Majesco's upcoming Facebook venture developed by the recently Zynga acquired Area/Code - is based on the US reality television series Parking Wars, which follows traffic wardens about their daily business.
Hopefully for Sutton & co., the spin-off game release will prove more popular than the subject matter of the programme and match the stickiness of Bananagrams and Cooking Mama after it debuts in May.
Further down the line, Sutton speculates that Majesco may expand into mobile games for iOS and Android, but for now the CEO is focussed on the feeding of parking meters and the doling out of tickets.
