Set for its third incarnation this July, EA Sport development head Andrew Wilson has been named as the opening keynote for the one day Evolve conference in Brighton.
Wilson's presentation, titled 'Moving the Goalposts Bringing Social Experiences to all Game Platforms', will focus on how studios can implement social elements into a game's core mechanic.
Also on the agenda will be the opportunity the digital transformation of the entertainment industry represents for developers.
Future focus
"As consumption behaviours, consumer demands and business models rapidly evolve in our industry, we have an opportunity to reset expectations on how we make all games social, regardless of the platform," said Wilson.
"This event will be a terrific platform to have these kinds of discussions about the future of the videogame industry."
Evolve will take place on the first day of the wider Develop Conference in Brighton, which will run between July 19-21.
The one day event has a specific focus on new gaming platforms, the technology behind them, and the fresh markets they open up as a result.
Big in Brighton
Also hosting Evolve sessions are Noel Llopis from Snappy Touch talking about One Price Does NOT Fit All, Hand Circus founder Simon Oliver on Rolling from iPhone to console - lessons learned from an independent developer, Tim Closs from Ideaworks - Bringing innovation to multiplatform development and deployment, and former PocketGamer.biz favourite Stuart Dredge talking about 45 Games in 45 Minutes: A Brisk Guide to Mobile Gaming Innovation.
The closing keynote will be hosted by Michael Acton Smith, founder of social multiplayer specialists Mind Candy.
