Following on from a similar deal signed by Pocket God studio Bolt Creative in 2010, Cut the Rope studio ZeptoLab has partnered with Ape Entertainment to turn Om Nom into a comic book star.
Ape is set to serve up a full colour Cut the Rope comic app on iOS, before delivering a print version and a graphic novel at a later date.
Cutting it
"In order to build a franchise, we wanted to expand the storyline," said ZeptoLab chairman Misha Lyalin.
"People love the character but he doesnt have a story yet. Now, Om Nom gets a story. The best way to do that is with comics."
Lyalin also revealed that paid downloads of Cut the Rope now top 9 million, with total series downloads including those of lite versions hitting 45 million.
The comic app will hit iOS this August.
