Unreal UDK gets updated with better Facebook integration and iOS God Rays
Epic Games has released a new version of its UDK technology - the October 2011 UDK Beta kit.

It's the free version of the Unreal Engine 3 - for consoles, PC and mobile - that's behind Infinity Blade and its upcoming sequel, which was demoed at the Apple Let's Talk iPhone event, to show off the A5 chip's power.

Beta and beta

Updated features improve upon UE3's Facebook integration. Users can now create wall posts through added dialog support and friends lists can now be downloaded.

Effects Epic calls "God rays and shadows" have been added to iOS, while support is added for Flurry analytics.

Foliage painting tools have been added with slope alignment, randomised angle and scale settings options. There are also new options to alter cull instances, minimum radius and general density of foliage.

For the full list of features head over to Epic Games, while the latest beta is available now over at the UDK site.
