Adding to $300,000 worth of daily giveaways

Gameloft and GetJar Gold team up to bring Asphalt 6 to Android for free
GetJar has been pumping free games out to Android users with its Gold program since its September 2011 inception.

In its first month it managed to give away an equivalent of $1 million worth of free apps, seeing download rates rise by 5,000 percent in the process.

According to GetJar, its 'premium for free' platform is giving away up to $300,000 worth of apps daily.

Now, for the first time, it's working with Gameloft in the form of Asphalt 6 - currently 99c on the Android Market.

Need for Free

"GetJar puts Asphalt 6 front and center with millions of consumers around the world, and we're excited to finally join forces with them," said Yann Fourneau, sales director at Gameloft.

"They are innovating on the app store model in ways that are great for the whole ecosystem, including consumers, developers and publishers."

GetJar CEO Ilja Laurs said "It's great to have Gameloft in the fold and making their games available for free through Getjar.

"We now have 95 percent of the world's top developers and publishers on GetJar, and the momentum we need to continue to explore new ways to reward both Android users and the developers building great new apps for them."
