Hook Mobile has launched the beta version of its invitation-based App Growth Engine SDK.
It promises word-of-mouth-style marketing without Facebook or Twitter integration on iOS platforms. Instead it uses people's phone numbers to generate a social graph.
Once integrated into a game, it enables gamers to invite their friends to join the experience with a single tap by using their contact list.
Players will be able to see which of their friends own the app and who to invite.
A new AGE of social marketing
"AGE is easy to integrate. I can invite and play with my closest friends without logging into Facebook or Twitter.
"I now know, with whom I can share the app based on their device, OS and carrier network. There is simply nothing else like this out there," said Graham Stead, CTO of Acta Capital, one of Hook's investors.
AGE will feature a web-enabled analytics dashboard that tags user's phone numbers, device types, OS, and network carrier allowing developers to analyse conversions, identify social trends, and use the new data to adjust their product.
"Hook Mobile has created an invaluable product," said Gabe Leydon, CEO of social mobile developer Machine Zone.
"Allowing users to promote your apps for free in the simplest way I have seen is incredible. Every mobile developer must check it out."
Use of AGE is free for 500 invites per month, rising to $500 a month for 25,000 invites.
You can find out more about the service via its website.
