Former Call of Duty creative strategist Robert Bowling has claimed his new studio will release games on smartphones and tablets designed to complement its library on console and PC.
Bowling's new studio, Robotoki, was formed just weeks after his departure from Infinity Ward, with the self-funded venture looking to 'nurture' industry talents and partner with other outfits with similar ideals.
More interesting, however, is Bowling's take on mobile's role in the wider gaming industry.
What comes after infinity?
Robotoki will look to launch its first title later in 2012 across next-gen consoles, PC, and mobile devices - including iOS and Android but not all versions of the game will function in quite the same way.
The studio's output on mobile will neither mimic nor supplement console or PC releases, but rather deliver what's described as an 'additive experience', allowing players to explore the game world in a "meaningful and unique way".
"Our focus is creating an experience that is no longer strictly single player, strictly co-op, or strictly multiplayer, but adapting the strengths of each of these into a unique experience that is fuelled by the actions and contributions in each," he said.
Robotoki's official site opened this morning and is currently hiring up for its upcoming project.
