Capcom's latest financial report notes that flagship title Resident Evil 6 failed "to achieve planned sales and fulfil its role as a driver of sales expansion."
The company's efforts in the mobile gaming space, however, have remained strong. Beeline's Smurfs' Village, for instance, "continued to record long-term, stable sales."
Overall, the company posted net sales of 72,699 million yen (around $780 million) for the nine months ending 31 December 2012, up 45 percent on the same period last year.
Of that total, 68 percent of sales came from the company's Digital Contents business - its console and mobile games.
Net income for the whole company was up 104.9 percent year-on-year to 6,645 million yen (around $72 million).
Bright spots
Capcom's financial highlights also revealed that the company's social gaming subsidiary, Beeline Interactive, has now accumulated a total of more than 86 million downloads, "mainly for Smurfs' Village."
That isn't the only success Capcom has mustered for mobile, though. Minna to Monhan Card Master, which has been distributed through DeNA's Mobage platform since the previous fiscal year, also "continued to maintain steady sales."
Resident Evil: Outbreak Survive, which is available through GREE's network, "achieved more than two million registered SNS members by steadily gaining new users," too.
