2012 was a year of strong growth for mobile ad network, InMobi.
After releasing its Lifetime Value Platform, which allowed developers to understand and engage their users more efficiently, InMobi appointed ex-Google executive Crid Yu as its vice president and managing director for North America.
These strategies and other appointments have paid off for InMobi, as the independent ad network announced that it has now reached 691 million unique users.
The company claims this his figure accounts for 40 percent of global smartphone users.
As the table above shows, the United States is still the core of InMobi's reach but the Singapore-based network reports 'massive' growth across all of its markets.
Yet InMobi's CEO and founder Naveen Tewari is convinced that the network will grow beyond its current levels - expanding into the emerging Firefox and Ubuntu operating systems.
With these markets added to current growth projections, Tewari is confident that InMobi will reach a billion unique users "within 18 24 months".
