Discover new skills with deep dive games industry courses – your chance to shape the curriculum

Help us to help you in 2021! We’re putting together our content plans for the PocketGamer.biz MasterClass video series now, as well as preparing all our conferences, and this is your chance to tell us what topics you want us to cover.

The MasterClasses are three-hour courses focussing on specific skill areas. The Pocket Gamer Connects events are week-long conferences with short, sharp talks, panels and round-tables. We have access to the best teachers and mentors in the industry, so we want to know what YOU want to learn from them.

If you fill in this survey, not only will you help shape our plans, but you’ll also be in with the chance of winning a pair of free tickets to Pocket Gamer Connects Digital 5. We’ll pick one winner from all those who share their MasterClass suggestions with us, and send them a freebie code for February’s event.

SUGGEST A MASTERCLASS

We've included some suggestions on the form, but we're also keen to hear all your requests - we welcome your suggestions as to who we invite to run a course and what subjects they cover.

Learn new professional skills in 2021

PocketGamer.biz is well known for its large-scale events and smaller round-tables, but the nature of a conference means they only scratch the surface of important subjects. So for in-depth learning, we have worked with industry experts to create the MasterClasses.

We have access to the best teachers and mentors in the industry, so fill in our form and let us know what YOU want to learn from them

They are professional half-day activities featuring tutorials and breakout groups, all accessed over the internet, via Zoom, Mira, Google Docs and other tools. The MasterClasses last three hours and are designed to be tightly focused. Class sizes range from 6 to 36 attendees so you get plenty of attention. They are interactive sessions that include a mix of expert presentations and breakout group work activities. Questions tend to take place at any point during the class, and at the end, we run a Q&A session.

Topics we’ve taught so far include Game Economy Design And Optimization, Product Management: Bringing Value To Your Players, How To Raise Investor Money For Your Game Studio, Game Monetisation Design: Building Value Into Your Game and more. Previous teachers include Tara Mustapha, Nick Murray, Karla Reyes, Javier Barnes, Oscar Clark amongst others.

We plan to run these at regular intervals throughout the year, and we are always scouting for new contributors. So if you would like to recommend a topic or teacher, please let us know!
