Pocket Gamer launches in France

First international expansion for the Pocket Gamer network

Pocket Gamer launches in France

Earlier this year, Pocket Gamer crossed the Channel. And we liked what we saw enough to set up Pocket Gamer France, the first international addition to the Pocket Gamer network, and a bespoke, fully localised portal catering for mobile, iPhone, N-Gage and iPod gamers in France.

Headed by French gaming journalist Nicolas Gavet, who boasts over 15 years' experience in the sector, and supported by an editorial team composed of established French journalists, the site aims to deliver the same quality of expert news, features, reviews and opinion for which PocketGamer.co.uk is renowned, while providing content that reflects the unique tastes and rich culture of the French audience and marketplace.

Oh, it's also entirely en français, bien entendu.

"I'm tremendously excited about the launch of Pocket Gamer in France – we've got a great team in place and have high hopes for the site," said Chris James, Steel Media MD. That's our boss. "I think we've done a good job championing the mobile games market in the UK with our websites wap sites and magazines and I'm really looking forward to trying to provide similar support in France. The market for mobile games is very exciting there and it was the natural choice for our first foray beyond the UK."

Voila, c'est tout. You'll find our more stylish and cultured PG cousins on http://www.pocketgamer.fr

With three boys under the age of 12, former Edge editor Joao has given up his dream of making it to F1 and instead spends his weekends transforming his living room floor into a venue for hosting increasingly complex Scalextric tracks. When in work mode, he looks after the production (aka the behind-the-scenes magic) of Steel Media's series of conferences.
