Further to its estimated launch week total of 20,000 units, mobile analytics and monetisation company Flurry reckons that during its launch month, Google's Nexus One phone sold 80,000 units.
The calculation was made as Flurry tracks the use of adverts in mobile applications and can detect the digital fingerprint of different devices.
This might not seem like much compared to Motorola's Droid, which sold 250,000 in its launch week.
But considering the Nexus One has only been released in the US and launched using a different business and distribution model, that it appears to have sold 20,000 units steadily each week suggests there's a reasonable number of willing customers.
Of course, it's unlikely Google's direct-to-consumer website approach will continue to rack up this rate of sales. For one thing, at $529, the Nexus One's price tag is too expensive.
What will be interesting to see however is whether Google decides to make the device made more widely available through US carriers and via typical contract deals. At the moment, it's only being sold by T-Mobile US, with little marketing support.
