Welcome to the weekly iPhone Quality Index (Qi) games round-up, giving you the LOWdown on the HIGH scorers every Friday on these illustrious pages.
As you may already know, Qi trawls the web for iPhone game reviews from the worlds most respected online and print sources.
Qi then applies its own magic formula to each site (such as 148Apps, Macworld, and TouchGen) to establish a single definitive Qi score for each iPhone app and game.
Panic stations
Spooking its way to the runner-up position on this weeks Qi games chart with a frighteningly high rating of 8.6 is Pudding Panic, kunst-stoffs action-puzzler set in a haunted house.
More precisely, a nervous little pudding named J. Jitters (oh, the hilarity) is trapped on a ghost train inside the haunted house. To escape this horrifying ordeal, Mr Jitters must find the perfect rail route, fend off unhinged monsters, and retain a low blood pressure.
In terms of aesthetics, Pudding Panic undeniably stands out from the crowd, as Slide to Play notes: The game's 3D graphics look fantastic, and are full of imaginative monsters. Is it possible to fall in love with a gelatin man? When you watch Jitters shake slightly as a level loads, you just might.
Skys the limit
Fingers crossed there arent any creepy inhabitants on NimbleBits estate, mind, else that could put a real spanner in your property development works.
The micromanagement of a high-rise building - from hosting special events and VIP visitors to raise capital, to attending to the needs and whims of your bitizens - forms the foundation of Tiny Tower, which has attracted a trio of lofty scores from around the iPhone universe.
Should a sushi bar be constructed on the fourth floor, or will the aroma disturb the fortune tellers feng shui upstairs? As the skyscrapers über-landlord, you must make this important call. Now.
Home run
Since 2002, 12 million copies of Gamevils Baseball Superstars series have landed in punters pitching gloves, yet the publisher claims its Baseball Superstars II Pro edition on iPhone is the best-ever version.
Why? Well, the players POV system and the AI have been enhanced, for two, and six new super batsmen have been welcomed onto this arcade / RPG hybrid diamond. MLB: here we come.
You can get the up-to-date information about which games are reviewing best over at the Quality Index.
