One of the most impressive facets of MyTown's 2.8 million strong userbase is that it's currently entirely made up of US based players.
While rivals such as Foursquare and Gowalla have been available overseas for some time, Booyah has built up its market leading position from home soil.
However, that's all set to change, with the firm today announcing MyTown has launched on the App Store in the UK, Australia and Canada.
Overseas ambitions
Following in the footsteps of its rivals, Booyah claims MyTown's ability to offer global check-ins utilising Google Place's web service in these new territories mean it is still setting the pace.
"Booyah is the premier mobile and social gaming company on top of the exploding location graph," CEO Keith Lee said of the news.
"Our launches in the UK, Australia and Canada are just the beginning of bringing real world gaming to players across the globe."
The firm's intentions to bring MyTown to markets outside of the US were first revealed by Lee back in May, with 34 countries in total and, indeed, a planned debut on Android all targeted.
Most recently, Booyah added product check-ins to the latest version of MyTown, with users able to scan product barcodes for extra check-in points.
