Mobile World Congress may still be dominated by handset and infrastructure companies, and operators, but every year sees apps gain more attention.
So continuing on from last year's App Planet - basically a rebranding of the old developers area - organiser GSMA has hooked up with IDG World Expo, the organiser of E3 Expo and QuakeCom amongst others, to launch Macworld Mobile.
This will be a one day iPhone and iPad focused developers event, including technical sessions and talks about tools and applications targeting mobile developers.
As well as running as part of the main Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona in February 2011, the first Macworld Mobile will run as part of Mobile Asia Congress in Hong Kong, on 17 - 18 November.
