UK chip design company ARM (LON:ARM) has announced its unaudited Q3 financials, for the three months ending September 30.
The company had revenues of £100.4 million ($158.1 million), up 34 percent year-on-year.
Profit before tax was £38.8 million ($61.3 million), up 60 percent.
The company generated net cash of £65 million ($103 million), up 130 percent.
Trip to Mali
During the quarter, ARM said 900 million of its processors shipped in mobile devices, while 600 million processors were shipped in embedded devices.
It signed 27 licensing deals including two for its advanced Mali GPU.
"Q3 was a good quarter for ARM. Not only are we benefiting from growth in applications where we are the established market leader, including in smartphones and mobile computers, but we are gaining share in markets like digital TV and microcontrollers," said CEO Warren East.
"Our partners are also starting to develop chips in new markets for ARM, such as servers and laptops, creating longer-term opportunities. In addition, both physical IP and Mali graphics performed well with important license wins and increasing royalty revenues.
Cash up
For the quarter, ARM achieved an average of 2.7 chips per mobile handset, up from 2.6 in the prior quarter, and from 2.1 a year ago.
The average royalty per chip increased to 4.7c, from 4.5c in the previous quarter.
ARM ended the quarter with £251.9 million ($398 million) in cash, compared to £202.3 million ($322 million) three months ago.
