Continuing its aggressive global rollout, Japanese social mobile platform vendor DeNA has announced a new office in Canada.
To be headed up by Irfan Virk, currently CEO of DeNA-owned US outfit Gameview, DeNA Studios Canada will be located in Vancouver and open in March.
Go-go Mobage
DeNA says the start up will focus on developing, supporting and operating its first party mobile social games on its Mobage platform.
It will raise 600,000 Canadian dollars in terms of initial capitalisation.
"We are excited to begin operations with the great talent in Vancouver," Virk commented.
"DeNA anticipates the new studio will meaningfully contribute to augmenting the whole group's game development and operating capabilities."
The move follows similar studio acquisitions in Latin America, Vietnam, Holland as well as office openings in Singapore, Korea and China and Sweden.
